It's 35 degrees outside and a fine mist is falling. There is a toasty fire in the fireplace and my children would rather go outside. Not only would they rather be out there, I have to threaten them to get them to wear a coat!!! They're convinced the sweatshirt jacket they wear when the thermometer is at 60 degrees is good all year round.
I know their circulation is better, but it can't be THAT good.

I feel your pain. Lilly refused her coat yesterday and insisted in playing outside in just a sweater. I figure it's an object lession. You can lead the child to outerwear but you can't make 'em wear it.
Get this - Lilly is getting to the 'too cool to wear a hat' phase. I can't throw stones because I wouldn't be caught DEAD in a hat and fought my mother like a banshee my entire childhood and well into adulthood.
And here's the flip side. I went to volunteer at school yesterday at about 9:30 am and Audrey was wearing her full on winter coat WITH THE HOOD UP! No one else in the class was so attired and I made her take it off.
Children are retarded.
